Terapia Ranbaxy to invest EUR 6.6 mln in research center in Romania
Terapia Ranbaxy, the largest generic pharmaceutical company in Romania, will invest some EUR 6.6 million in a research and development center in Cluj-Napoca.
In the new center, the company will produce new types of tablets and capsules. The money behind the project will come from European funds and from the company’s own funds.
“The funding contract for the Terapia research and development center in Cluj was signed in July this year and has a duration of 18 months,” said Mihaela Opris, project manager, quoted by local business daily Zf.ro.
The building will have three levels and a total area of 2,000 sqm, she added.
Terapia Ranbaxy recorded a turnover of some EUR 24.7 million in the third quarter of 2013, up five percent year-on-year and the company expects an increase of 10 percent this year.
The company produces tablets, lozenges, capsules, sterile ampoules, oral liquids and ear & eye drops in its manufacturing facility in Cluj.
