The famous Laduree macaroons to sell in new Bucharest shop this fall
Laduree, the famous pastry brand known for its macaroons, will open shop on Bucharest's Calea Dorobantilor this fall.
The new shop will occupy 35 sqm at the ground floor of the multi-brand shop Victoria 46 on Calea Dorobantilor, according to Ziarul Financiar.
The two shareholders of Victoria 46, Dorothy Constantin and Andreea Altay, will open the shop under a franchise agreement with Laduree, following an investment of about EUR 0.5 million.
The new shop will offer macaroons, chocolate, teas, jams, and many other sweets.
Maison Laduree was created in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from France’s southwest, created a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale.
The story of the Ladurée Macaroon began in the middle of the 20th century with Pierre Desfontaines, Laduree's grandson, who first thought of taking two macaroon shells and joining them with a ganache filling.
Nowadays, Laduree, which runs shops in the world's largest cities, is one of the top sellers of double-decker macaroons in the world.
