The largest bison ranch opens in Romania's Cluj, following EUR 1.5 mln investment
The largest bison ranch in Europe, that hosts some 300 animals and covers an area of 500 hectares, was recently opened in Recea Cristur commune, in Cluj county, central Romania.
The investment in the ranch amounted to EUR 1.5 million and was made by BT Bison Ranch.
The bisons were brought from Denmark, Germany, France, Austria and Belgium.
The ranch is owned by German and Austrian investors, who hope to export bison meat to Western Europe, especialy to Germany, where it is in high demand. The investors will try to sell bison meat in Romania too.
The ranch currently employs 300 epople from the village and nearby villages.
