The Museum Channel launches in Romania via Orange TV’s Universal HD package

11 July 2013

The Museum Channel, a TV channel previously known as Museum HD, has recently launched in Romania. The TV channel, which focuses on fine arts and broadcasts around the clock, is offered in Orange TV’s Universal HD package.

The Museum Channel's shows feature several European museums and works of art signed by well-known artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci or Andy Warhol.

The Museum Channel Television is owned by French company PureScreens and is also present in France, Belgium and Portugal.

Telecom company Orange recently launched its TV service in Romania, with 95 channels, out of which 40 are in High Definition format, which is a first on the Romanian market coming from a mobile operator. The service will be available on the TV set, and on the computer, via satellite and the internet. Orange thus competes with providers such as RCD & RDS, Romtelecom and UPC, which also offer satellite TV services in Romania.

Orange TV is broadcast via the Direct to Home technology (DTH), which allows TV channels to be viewed in a digital system, directly from the satellite.
