The Romanian antifraud squad closes down 10 restaurants and bistros in Bucharest high life area
Ten restaurants and bistros located in one of Bucharest most select areas were shut down by fiscal inspectors from the Romanian antifraud division due to fiscal irregularities. They will remain closed for one to three months.
The fiscal inspectors dictated these sanctions after they discovered that the respective restaurants didn’t issue fiscal receipts or sold alcoholic beverages which didn’t have revenue stamps, according to an announcement made by ANAF.
A total of 81 fiscal inspectors, from the most fierce control group within the Romanian Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), raided the restaurants and bistros located on Decebal Boulevard in Bucharest, on Friday, May 30, to check is they comply with fiscal regulations. They detected 43 misdemeanors and imposed EUR 110,000 worth of fines to those responsible.
Decebal is one of the meeting points for the Bucharest high life, along with Dorobanti and the Old Town areas. Usually, it is a nightmare to drive on this boulevard after dark, because of the flashy cars which are double parked and disturb traffic.
