The Romanian Athenaeum and Anghel Saligny Bridge feature in Deutsche Telekom European media campaign
The Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest and the Anghel Saligny Bridge at Cernavoda, two of Romania's architectural landmarks, represent Romania in a pan-European media campaign by telecom company Deutsche Telekom.
Romania thus joins 11 other countries in which Deutsche Telekom runs the integrated campaign. This project is part of the group’s strategy to become the leading telecom company in Europe, as well as Telekom’s local strategy for becoming the main integrated operator, according to the company's representatives.
"Romania, as the third market for Deutsche Telekom in Europe population-wise (after Germany and Poland), is one of the most relevant contributors to the Group’s objectives. Our strategy is fully aligned with the one of Deutsche Telekom: provide Romanian customers reliable and top quality services and products, boost fix-mobile convergence and be the Romanians’ preferred integrated telecom operator," said Nikolai Beckers, CEO of the Telekom Romania operations.
The motto of the campaign is We connect people in Europe!. Via this international media campaign, Deutsche Telekom wants to highlight that the technology is a “bridge” that brings people, companies and markets together. The central element is the "T", representing a connection between the countries. Each country in which the media group is present is represented by known places of interest, in which the "T" is incorporated graphically.
Romania is represented by the Romanian Athenaeum and the Anghel Saligny Bridge. The other architectural symbols are the Prague Castle (Czech Republic), the Krakow Cloth Hall (Poland), Heroes' Square in Budapest (Hungary), the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin (Germany), Pula Arena (Croatia), Charles Bridge in the Czech Republic (Prague), Europabrücke/Europe bridge in Austria (Brenner Pass), the Chain Bridge in Hungary (Budapest), the Blue Wonder in Germany (Dresden), and the New Bridge in Slovakia (Bratislava).
The campaign was launched in Germany in May, and then, a few days later, in Macedonia and Montenegro. The campaigns for Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia, Romania and Albania are implemented in June and July.
We connect people in Europe is launched in all countries with a 45-second spot on high-reach TV stations and large-format print advertisements. In parallel, the campaign is also conducted online and via out-of-home media and social media, as well as with accompanying events.
