Romanians seem to dig singing competitions and television is cashing in on the trend. The most recent edition of the Voice of Romania gathered 2.5 million viewers in front of their TVs watching ProTV, which organizes and broadcasts the show. This was around 13 percent of Romania's population.

With four singing dream teams, the four coaches at the Voice of Romania organized the first series of musical dueling between contestants, one step closer to finding the Voice. This is the second edition of the Voice of Romania. The first one was won by Stefan Stan.

The show competes with the X Factor, a competition run by Antena 1 TVstation and which is also at its second edition inRomania. Both competitions are based on show formats that have become very popular abroad in recent years.
