The weekend starts with bad weather in Romania
This weekend starts with rain in western Romania, strong wind and even snow in mountain areas.
Romanian meteorologists issued this morning a Yellow Code of bad weather. The alert is available for 18 counties in western Romania, between January 30, 17:00 and January 31, 10:00.
The rainfall will be around 15 liters per sqm in western and north-western regions, but can reach 35-40 liters per sqm in some areas. Snow is expected in mountain areas.
Strong winds are also forecasted for this period. In Banat, Crisana, south of Transylvania and Drobrogea regions, the wind will blow with up to 70 km per hours. It can reach over 90 km per hour in some mountain areas.
The counties targeted by this weather alert are Maramures, Satu Mare, Salaj, Cluj, Bihor, Alba, Hunedoara, Arad, Timis, Caras-Severin, Mehedinti, Gorj, Valcea, Arges, Dambovita, Prahova, Brasov and Sibiu.
