The National University of Theatre and Film IL Caragiale (UNATC) recently bought an office building downtown Bucharest, in a transaction worth more than EUR 3 million, financed from EU funds, according to real-estate consultant Esop, which brokered the transaction.

The office building was erected in 2003 and has a total built area of about 1,800 sqm and a 726 sqm plot.

"The number of applications for projects financed with European funds has increased lately, but this deal is one of the biggest so far," said Alexandru Petrescu, Esop Consulting managing partner, cited by local Wall-street.ro.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

"The total value of the project is EUR 8.9 million, EUR 7.9 million of which is non-reimbursable financial assistance. The project's duration is 16 months,” said Alexandru Berceanu, UNATC Deputy Director and scientific responsible for the project.
