Three out of ten Romanians drive a car

Three out of ten Romanians drive a personal or a company car, and 70% of the drivers are men, according to Ipsos Research.

One in four people in Bucharest drive a car while 40% of the people who live in the capital go by car at least once a week, even if they are not drivers, reports local Agerpres.

Over 70% of Bucharest’s inhabitants use the public transport bus service, whereas 50% use the subway at least once a week. About 10% of the people living in the capital take the cab at least once during a week.

Four out of ten Romanians deem the car an indispensable necessity. For over 5% of Romanians the car is the most important thing in their life, especially for young people between 18 and 24.
