Three out of ten Romanians say goodbye to summer holiday

Three out of ten Romanians living in urban areas plan to give up on their holiday this year, while an extra 16 percent will reduce their holiday budget, according to a recent study by 360insight, quoted by Mediafax newswire.

Elders and those will low income or those unemployed were among those having said they would give up on the summer holiday, similarly to those whose salaries have been cut.

On the other hand, 36 percent of the respondents in the study will not cut their holiday spending. These are mostly young people, with higher income, which earn more now than in 2009.

For 37 percent of the respondents, salaries dropped this year compared to the last, while half of the answers points to a similar level of revenues.

The study was carried on in April and May this year on 800 respondents in urban areas, aged between 16 and 64.
