Romanian football teams FC Steaua, FC Rapid and FC Vaslui are among the 48 UEFA contenders that will try to win the UEFA Europe League, after having passed the playoffs for the competition. “Hoping to reach this season's final in their home city are FC Steaua Bucureşti and FC Rapid Bucureşti,” according to UEFA.

The final of the championship will be held in Bucharest, on May 9, 2012, on the recently finished Bucharest Arena.
