Timisoara residents leave winter clothes in trees for the homeless
Given the low temperatures registered in Romania these days, some people in Timisoara, Western Romania, have found a different way of helping those in need: on Sunday, they left winter clothes in the trees and on some of the benches in the city’s Central Park.
Dozens of people took part in this campaign initiated by Look Inside Association, reports local Mediafax. They brought thick jackets, hats, scarfs, blouses, pants, gloves, or any other clothing item they thought other people might need. Some of the clothes were accompanies by a message that said: “With love, for anyone in need. Signed: a human. Give without asking anything in return.”
Around 14:00, when the campaign was over, the clothes that remained in the park’s trees were collected and taken to the homeless people around Timisoara North Train Station.
This was not the first time when such an action was organized in Timisoara. Last year, people dressed trees with winter clothes within a campaign called “This is for you if you need it.”
