15 June 2011

A total Lunar eclipse will be visible in Romania on Wednesday night for almost five hours. The eclipse will start at 20,24 hours but the Moon will rise at 20,51 hours. The total phase of the eclipse will be visible at 22,22 hours, while the maximum, when the Moon will look orange – reddish will happen at 23,12 hours.

However, if you are in an open area, the eclipse will be visible by naked eye. The next total Moon eclipse visible from Romania will happen in 2015. The Moon color indicates the degree of pollution in the air. The eclipse will end at 02,01 hours in the night.

If you to watch the eclipse tonight, you can go at the Bucharest Observatory, which is open between 21,00 hours and 04,00 hours in the morning. The Observatory is located on the Lascar Catargiu boulevard at no. 21, between Romana and Victoriei square.
