Trade deficit reaches EUR 4.7 bln, exports grow more than imports

Romania's trade deficit went up to EUR 4.7 billion at the end of June, with EUR 25.4 million above the level in the first six months of 2009. Exports grew by 25.8 percent, while imports, by 19.3 percent, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS). Exports stood at EUR 17.1 billion, while imports, at EUR 21.8 billion during the first six months of the year.

Cars and transport equipments made for the bulk of the export – 43 percent, and for 35 percent of the imports.
