Traffic restricted near Charles de Gaulle plaza as cubic stone gets replaced by asphalt
Car traffic will be restricted to three lanes on the Constantin Prezan boulevard, between Charles de Gaulle Square and Arcul de Triumf starting Monday, August 9, until mid-September. Road repairing will restrict traffic to three lanes- two will be available for traffic from Charles de Gaulle to Arcul de Triumf and only one lane from Arcul de Triumf to Charles de Gaulle. Works on this segment should be ready by mid-September. The cubic stone on the road will be replaced by a layer of asphalt on the portions most used for car traffic. The Bucharest city hall has obtained the needed approvals to replace cubic stone on most of the road, which is part of the national patrimony.
Aviatorilor boulevard will also be repaired at the same time. The first segment to be repaired, between Bordei Park and Charles de Gaulle Square, will be finalized in two weeks. The second segment, between Charles de Gaulle and the Aviators monument, will be ready by September 15.
