Tram turns into a mobile library in Romania’s Iasi
The residents of Iasi, a city in north-eastern Romania, can now have a more pleasant journey in a special tram that aims to encourage reading outside libraries.
A small library has been arranged in one of the city’s trams, called the Literature Tram. Following the slogan “Read! Give! Leave it on the bench!”, the travelers can lend the books they find in the tram and can also donate books for other readers.
The special tram-library was presented on December 4. The project was initiated by Cartea pe banca (a project that aims to promote reading) and was developed by Tramclub Iasi Association, National Paints Romania, and RATP Iasi transport company.
