Romania’s Translectrica completes refurbishment of Ungheni substation
Romania’s power grid operator Transelectrica announced the completion of the refurbishment of the Ungheni substation in Mures county, with a total investment of over EUR 10mn, VAT not included.
The sub-station is used for Romania’s power exports to Moldova.
The project was financed from its own funds.
The works were executed by the Association Siemens Energy – Emsens Prod.
The 220/110/20 kV Ungheni Transformer Substation is an energy node with an important role in supplying electricity to Mures County, but also in supplying a large consumer, namely the Azomures plant.
The refurbishment process consisted in replacing the existing equipment with new, up-to-date equipment in the technological field, which ensures the operation and brings the installations to a level of safety and reliability corresponding to the energy infrastructure in the area in order to increase the quality of the electricity transmission service.
