Romanian gas transporter could get EUR 46 mln from EU to upgrade pipe to Moldova

Romanian state-owned gas transporter Transgaz could get EUR 46 million worth of EU funds for increasing the capacity of the gas pipe connecting Romania and Moldova, according to a company representative, local Agerpres reported.

He said the project includes 165 kilometers of pipeline and two gas compressor stations.

Transgaz has also received EUR 179.3 million from the EU to finance the construction of the BRUA pipeline, connecting Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. The company has already started working on this project, which has a total value of EUR 478.6 million and should be completed in December 2019.
