Romanian developer Transilvania Constructii to invest EUR 10 mln in green energy production
Transilvania Constructii, the local company developing, owning and managing industrial properties under the TRC Park brand, announced a five-year plan to produce green energy across all its projects. The total investment in the necessary infrastructure amounts to EUR 10 million.
The developer started installing solar panels at TRC Park Cluj - the first project set to produce green energy for its tenants. The park, located in the commune of Jucu, currently totals five buildings with a leasable area of 42,000 sqm. Another 150,000 sqm is to be added through a new extension.
Estimated to cost EUR 1 million, the works at TRC Park Cluj are scheduled to be completed by the end of July. They entail the installation of a 1,000 kWp photovoltaic plant that will produce 1,156 MWh of clean energy annually.
“We understand that our planet is facing a climate crisis, and we all have an obligation to contribute to limiting the global temperature increase to less than 1.5 degrees Celsius. In this sense, our priority is to reduce carbon emissions in existing properties through various solutions and to eliminate as much as possible CO2 emissions in new developments, both in the construction phase and in the building use phase”, says Andrei Timofte, General Manager, Transilvania Constructii.
Transilvania Constructii currently has more than 250,000 square meters of industrial and logistics spaces in its portfolio, where more than 300 clients from different market sectors operate.
The company’s properties are located in-city or on the outskirts of the main cities in Romania and the main transport routes. They vary from large, big-box-style buildings, used mainly as distribution centres, to urban warehouses strategically located near major population centres.
