Transilvania Fest kicks off at the end of July in Biertan

Cultural and agricultural festival Transilvania Fest, which will take place between July 30 and August 1st this year at Biertan, near Sibiu, will feature local craftsmen, cooks from Transylvania and from the UK who will prepare traditional food. The festival is supported by the Princess Margareta of Romania and Prince Charles of the United Kingdom. A team of students from the Oxford Brookes university from UK will help promote local products and help locals from Biertan apply branding concepts.

The Transilvania festival is similar to other traditional festivals in Europe and the US.

Biertan locality is on the list of UNESCO cultural heritage for the fortified church which has been the headquarters of the Evangelic Episcopacy for 300 years and the religious core for Transylvanian sasi.
