Over 500 Romanians are expected to pay around EUR 2,000 each for tours in African countries such as Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Togo, or Rwanda this year, where safari is the main attraction.

“Romanians are starting to take the taste of Africa and the safari. If last year we’ve sent groups to Kenya, this year we extended the offer to countries such as Gabon, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Togo and Rwanda,” Alin Burcea, owner of travel agency Paralela 45, told local Mediafax.

Based on the evolution of bookings, Burcea estimates that over 500 Romanians will go on such trips this year, and will pay between EUR 1,700 and EUR 3,000 per holiday.

"In these holidays, the tourists are mainly attracted by the safari, where they can see various animals, from lions and gorillas to antelopes or giraffes," he said.
