Tripsta: Romanians holiday in August, have second largest budget for plane tickets

Romanians like to holiday in August and spend over EUR 300 on plane tickets, to main destinations Athens, Copenhagen and Istanbul, according to online tourism agency Tripsta. The first week of August was a popular holiday period for Romanians this year, compared to the last week of August in 2013. For comparison, British travelers were constant in choosing mid-August for their summer holiday both in 2013 and in 2014.

Turkish and Polish travelers holidayed much earlier this summer, in June, compared to August in 2013, while most Greeks went for end July, rather than End – August like in 2013.

The EUR 332 spent on average by Romanians for plane tickets place them on the second spot, after British, who spent some EUR 419, and ahead of Russians, who paid some EUR 323 for plane tickets.

The Greeks spent the least time on holiday this year – 12 days, while the Poles, 15 days, and Romanian and Turkish travelers, 17 days.
