Turkish group invests EUR 40 mln in sweets factory in Romania

Eti, one of the leading players in the food industry in Turkey, is investing EUR 40 million in a production facility in Craiova for salty and sweet biscuits and cakes.

The factory in Craiova, which will employ about 300 people, is the Turkish group’s first production unit abroad, reports local Wall-street.ro The plant will become operational in October next year. The unit covers a 75,800 sqm area, of which about 18,500 sqm represent the production area.

"We decided for Romania due to the good market conditions, advantages in the region, logistics and economic stability of the count," said Eti president Firuzhan Kanatli.

The production capacity in the first year will reach 11,000 tons.
