Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet Romanian President Klaus Iohannis today, April 1, during his first official visit to Romania as a president.

The two leaders meet at 11:00 for half an hour, after which they should make joint statements.

In the evening, Klaus Iohannis and his wife will hold an official dinner in honour of the Turkish President and his wife.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously visited Romania in 2007, when he was Prime Minister.

Turkey is one of the largest NATO members in the area and one of Romania’s biggest trade partners.
