Two foreign engineers involved in work accident at Romanian fertilizer plant
A work accident occurred on Thursday at the Romanian fertilizer producer Azomures in Targu Mures, when two foreign engineers were injured by hot steam.
They suffered burns and were taken to the Plastic Surgery and Burns Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, according to a company statement cited by local Agerpres.
The supervising engineers were from two foreign companies, Chemoprojekt and Stamicarbon.
The incident took place at the Urea plant. A commission is currently analyzing the causes of the incident, in collaboration with state authorities.
Azomures, located in Targu Mures, is the largest Romanian fertilizer producer. The company is controlled by Swiss agriculture producer and trader Ameropa.
