Two gold medals for Romania at European Fencing Championship in Zagreb
Romania landed two gold medals at the ongoing European Fencing Championships, which take place in Zagreb, Croatia.
Tiberiu Dolniceanu got the gold medal at the sable competition, defeating Russian Alexei Iakimenko 15-11, while Ana Maria Branza (in picture) also got the gold at the epee competition. She defeated Italian Francesca Quondamcarlo, also 15-11.
Earlier this year, Ana Maria Branza has won the Saint Maur World Cup fencing event in Paris, France. In the team event of the women's epée competition, held in the Saint Maur des Fosse municipality, south east of Paris, Romania came third.
The European Fencing Championships will end on June 21 in Zagreb.
