Two gold medals for Romania’s Eduard Novak at Para-cycling World Championships
Romanian cyclist Carol Eduard Novak has won another gold medal, taking first place in the 80km road race at the Para-Cycling World Championships in Baie-Comeau on Sunday (September 1)
The win followed an amazing performance on Friday (August 30) when Novak became the best in the world in the C4 category individual time trial.
The Romanian cyclist did the road race’s seven laps in 2h 00:08, outpacing the Czech Republic’s Jiri Jezek and Spain’s Garcia Alcaide.
Novak took part in his first Paralympics in 2004, followed by two more attendances in 2008 and 2012.
At the 2008 Paralympic Games he won the silver medal in the individual time trial, while in 2012 he won a gold and a silver medal at the Paralympics.
Also in 2012, Novak won the Romanian National Road Race Championship, held two months prior to the Paralympics.
