Two out of three Romanians choose beer to relax, according to study
Last month, 82 percent of Romanians preferred to relax after a day at work outdoors with friends and usually chose to drink beer, according to a study by consultancy firm Gfk Romania.
The study, requested by the Beer Association of Romania, revealed that in the last month about one in three Romanian adults (35 percent) consume beer to relax after a day at work outdoors with the friends, and two of three Romanian adults (77 percent) usually relax at home with their family, half of them choosing to drink beer (54 percent).
Also 10 percent of those who chose a walk in the park consume beer with this occasion, and half of those who chose to relax at the pool (58 percent), chose to cool off with a beer.
The Romanian Beer Association started in 2004 based on the mission to promote and develop a responsible beer industry in Romania. Five of the biggest beer companies in Romania ( Bergenbier, Heineken Romania, Romaqua Group, Ursus Breweries and United Romanian Breweries) are part of the association. Between them, they produce 90 percent of the beer in Romania. From 2008 the organization has been a member of the European Beer Association headquartered in Brussels.
