Two Romanian movies at Around the World in 14 Films festival in Berlin
Two Romanian movies will be screened at this year’s edition of Around the World in 14 Films festival in Berlin.
Sieranevada, the latest feature film by Romanian director Cristi Puiu, will be screened on November 28 and November 29. The film, which is Romania’s nomination for the 2017 Oscars, recently won the Gold Hugo for Best Film, and the Silver Hugo Best Director awards at the 52nd Chicago International Film Festival.
The second Romanian film that will be screened at the German festival is Inimi Cicatrizate/Scarred Hearts, directed by Radu Jude. The screenings are also scheduled for November 28 and November 29. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland this summer.
Around the World in 14 Films is an annual independent international film festival that brings together 14 films from 14 regions around the world. This year’s edition of the festival will take place between November 25 and December 4 at the Kino in der KulturBrauerei in Berlin. Find out more about the festival here.
