Two trams collide in Bucharest, 18 injured
Two trams were involved in an accident on Wednesday (July 18 ) in the Rahova neighborhood of Bucharest. As many as 18 passengers were injured and already sent to various hospitals in Bucharest for treatment. Five are believed to have sustained more serious injuries, potentially fractures, but none have life threatening injuries, according to initial information.
A 41 tram that was heading to the Alexandria depot collided into a 32 tram heading to Unirii Square, according to the Bucharest Public Transport Company (RATB). Trams have been stopped in the area but a bus line to serve the route has been set up.
Three trams collided in May at Lujerului underground pass in Bucharest, leaving at least 86 passengers injured. Most of them sustained fractures and three of them, with head trauma, were rushed to the hospital.
