The unemployment rate in Romania reached 6.5% in November 2014, down 0.2% from the previous month and down 0.6% compared to November 2013, according to data recently released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The number of unemployed aged 15-74 years reached 617,000 in November 2014, down from the previous month (620,000 people) and November 2013 (651,000 people).

Men's unemployment rate (7%) exceeds by 1.1% that of women’s (5.9%). For adults (those aged 25-74 years) the unemployment rate was estimated at 5.2% for November 2014 (5.6% for men and 4.7% for women).
