Unemployment rate drops to 6.5% in Romania
The unemployment rate stood at 6.5% in Romania in the third quarter, down from 6.7% in the previous three months, the total number of unemployed people being 615,000, according to recent data from the National Statistics Institute INS.
The unemployment rate among men was slightly higher than in the case of woman: 6.8% compared to 6.2%, the data reveals. In the urban areas, the unemployment rate stood at 7.9%, higher than in the rural areas – 4.9%.
The highest level of unemployment, of 22.5%, was registered among young people aged between 15 and 24, according to INS.
