Unemployment rate slightly down at 7% for Romania in July
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Romania was estimated at 7% in July 2014, down 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month and by 0.3 percentage points from the same month a year ago, according to recent data from the country’s statistics institute INS.
The number of unemployed citizens (aged 15-74) was estimated at 698,000 for July this year, down from 700,000 the month before.
Unemployment among men was 1.5 percentage points higher than the rate among women, according to INS data.
In the case of adults (aged 25-74), the unemployment rate was estimated at 5.7% for July. The number of unemployed citizens aged between 25 and 74 accounts for 74.9% of the total.
