Underpass in downtown Bucharest to undergo EUR 20 mln rehabilitation
Unirii Underpass will undergo a RON 97 million (EUR 20.4 million) rehabilitation, according to a decision approved by the Bucharest General Council (CGMB) on March 11. The funds will come from the city’s budget.
The project is to be finished within two years.
A 2017 assessment of the bridges and underpasses administered by the Roads Administration found the underpass needed rehabilitation because of the degradation caused by water infiltration and ageing underlays.
Also in the March 11 meeting, CGMB approved the technical and economic indicators of a project concerning the building of an overpass over Andronache Road. The value of the investment is of RON 200 million (EUR 42 million). The passage, which will have four lanes, is meant to help ease the traffic in the area.
