UPS makes EUR 15 mln from parcel services in Romania
Parcel services company UPS Romania posted revenues of EUR 15 million in 2009, up 25 percent on the previous year. The company expects to increase its revenues this year to EUR 18.7 million this year, according to the company's general director Iulia Nartea.
The company has recently opened a new regional center near the Otopeni airport, covering 2,500 sqm. The hub will serve 60 percent of the Romanian territory. Romania is a transit hub for UP serving countries like Bulgaria and Greece, for import and export.
UPS entered the Romanian market in 1990 through a partnership with Romtrans. Since 2000 it has been working through Trans Courier Service, a company within Romtrans, which was boughr by UPS in 2008.
