US air conditioning company Carrier eyes acquisitions in Romania

US heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems producer Carrier intends to acquire or merge with Romanian companies and is currently looking for such opportunities. The firm is also interested in investing in energy solutions and automatizing for constructions, according to Fabio Vello, the firm's general manager in Romania.

The company is planing to reach a EUR 10 million turnover each year in the next three years in Romania, according to Vello.

Carrier Corporation opened its local subsidiary in 2008. Last year, the company reported $11.4 billion in revenues worldwide. It employs 32,000 people across the world. The company, based in Farmington, Connecticut, was set up by Willis Carrier, who invented the modern air conditioning system in 1902.
