The US Government donated USD 710,000 to renovate two hospitals in Giurgiu and Iasi counties. The renovation of the hospital in Ghimpati, Giurgiu (in picture), worth some USD 410,000, is financed by the US European Commandment and will include the renovation of its facade, windows, electric and heating systems, roof and doors. Around 25,000 people who live in the area will benefit from this project.

The USD 300,000 donation will go to the Children's Emergency Hospital in Iasi. The US Government has contributed some USD 1.3 million to improving health services in Romania in 2012, which included two projects and a tele-medicine project for the Health Ministry, financed by the American Agency for Trade and Development (USTDA).
