Vacant jobs in Romania reach almost 55,000
Romania had about 54,700 vacant jobs in the last three months of 2015, up by 2,200 compared to the previous quarter.
The vacancy rate stood at 1.21%, slightly higher than in July-September 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
The highest vacancy rates were in public administration, namely 3.2%, followed by the health and social assistance field (2.49%) and other services (2.48%).
The manufacturing industry recorded 26% of the total number of vacant jobs, with 14,200. The sector had a vacancy rate of 1.26%.
The public sector accounted for over one third of the total number of job vacancies. Some 8,200 vacant jobs are in the public administration, with 7,600 vacant jobs in health and social insurance and 2,700 vacant jobs in education.
The number of unemployed people in Romania was 631,000 at the end of 2015.
