The European Commission’s Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification (MCV) report for Bulgaria and Romania will be published in the coming weeks, said Christian Wigand, spokesman for the European Commission, cited by local Mediafax. No specific release date has been set so far, he added.

President Klaus Iohannis said on Thursday in Brussels that the MCV report will be published in a few days.

European sources told the Romanian news agency Mediafax that the current report will be better for Romania than the previous one, from January 2014. The Parliament will face criticism especially for refusing to lift immunity of some MPs who face trials.

The same sources said that the report on Romania will be better than the one on Bulgaria.
