Vienna Insurance Group’s premiums drop to around EUR 511 mln in Romania in 2011

Austrian insurer Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) posted premiums of EUR 510.9 million in 2011 in Romania, down 4.7 percent compared to the previous year, due to the income-oriented restructuring of the portfolio in the non-life insurance segment, according to the preliminary results of the group.

The group’s life insurance premiums went up by 7.9 percent, to EUR 100.9 million, while non-life premiums totaled EUR 410 million.

On the Romanian market, the Austrian insurance group holds BCR Asigurari de Viata, BCR Asigurari, Omniasig and Asirom.
