The Village Museum in Bucharest will organize a fair on Saturday and Sunday (July 19-20) oto celebrate the Saint Ilie’s religious holiday.

The event aims to show the museum’s visitors the atmosphere of old traditional fairs, which would facilitate people to meet and communicate, but also so trade. These fairs used to be organized on religious holidays, when people traditionally stopped their agricultural activities.

The fair at the Village Museum will feature traditional craft demonstrations, traditional cooking and folk dance and music. Visitors will also be able to buy pottery, handmade wood items and home-made food.

However, the weather might be an issue, as it is well known that traditionally Saint Ilie brings thunderstorms.
