Vintage train to take tourists to the monasteries in Suceava, Romania
A vintage train pulled by the oldest functional steam locomotive in Romania, and having four coaches built around 1900, will travel to Moldavita, Cacica and Putna, during the "Pilgrim in Bucovina" project. The train will cover the route between Suceava and Cacica-Putna and back, offering an unusual alternative of transport for the tourists and pilgrims.
The tourism program initiated by the Suceava County Council and entitled "Pilgrim in Bucovina" was launched in Vienna on July 15, when a group of cyclists left for Bucovina, intending to reach the destinations of Basilica Minor at Cacica, the Putna Monastery and the Hagigadar Church in Suceava.
“Pilgrim in Bucovina” is a tourist project financed from European money, which includes a pilgrimage between July 15 to August 15, from Vienna to Bucovina.
