13 June 2012

Vodafone and the Urban Concept Association today (June 13 ) launched a free new version of the Urban Transport smartphone app that includes plans of urban routes and a way to buy subscriptions and tickets for Bucharest's public transport company (RATB).

The app is compatible with the Android, Windows Phone and iOS operating systems. Vodafone also launched an app called “Train Time Table”, built with the Appscend platform and available for Andoid and iOS devices.

“The Urban Transport and Train Time Table apps [...] are two important sources of information in daily life for users of smartphones in Romania. […] We are launching a first option to purchase subscriptions and daily rickets from RATB directly through the Urban Transport app, with payment by bill or directly via the Vodafone credit card”, said Ovidiu Paraschivescu, Team Leader, Applications, Vodafone Romania.

Tickets and subscriptions sold through the app will have the same price as at the RATB booths.
