01 February 2018

The preparation and coordination website for the Romanian presidency of the EU Council was officially launched on Wednesday, January 31.

The Romania2019.eu website includes information about the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the preparation of the Romanian mandate, the forum on presidency ideas, as well as opportunities for internship or volunteering within this project.

Victor Negrescu, the minister delegate for European Affairs, launched the website at the ANIS - Employers' Association of Software and Services Industry Gala.

“It’s an interactive portal that allows you to participate with your ideas in defining your topics of interest, in defining priorities. We open the doors to the Romanians who want to participate, to those in and out of the country,” the minister said, according to local news agency Agerpres.

The presidency of the Council rotates among the EU member states every six months, with Romania holding the presidency in the period January-June 2019. The country’s logo for the EU Council presidency is a stylized Dacian wolf.
