Which are the Romanians’ biggest concerns?

09 November 2015

A recent INSCOP survey reveals that the health condition represents the biggest concern for 23.3% of Romanians, followed by the decrease in their personal incomes (16%), and the possibility of a conflict/war in the area (14.2%).

Moreover, 13.1% of Romanians are worried about price increases, 12.5% fear that they might lose their jobs, and 8.7% are concerned about political instability. Natural disasters are the main concern of 5.6% of respondents while an environmental deterioration represents the biggest concern for only 1.5% of Romanians.

More than half of respondents (51.5%) think that Romania is moving towards a wrong direction, more than in September 2015 – 48.5%, but less than in October 2014 – 68.2%. Only 35.9% of Romanians believe that Romania is heading in a good direction (compared to 42% in September 2015, and 24% in October 2014).

Almost half of Romanians, namely 49.8%, think that living in Romania is no different now than it was a year ago (slightly down from 50.3% in September), 28.1% think that is worse (29% in September), and 19.5% see a better life (19% in September).

INSCOP conducted the study between October 23 and November 1, at the request of Adevarul newspaper.
