German water pump system producer Wilo has invested EUR 6.9 million in building a regional headquarters in Otopeni, near Bucharest, Ziarul Financiar reported.

The company will use this office to manage its operations across ten countries in the region.

This project, through its functional expansion, has a strategic role for Wilo in Eastern Europe, explained Gabriel Niţă, Managing Director of Wilo Romania & Moldova.

The investment is rooted in the development partnerships in the area. It aims to address the requests for services and solutions for heating, air conditioning and cooling, water supply, and wastewater installations in Romania and the region.

The Wilo regional manager assured that the group would continue the strategic projects started in Romania.

Wilo Romania supplies equipment for residential, office, and retail projects. The company has operated in Romania since 1998. In 2018, it posted a turnover of RON 70 mln (EUR 15 mln) and a net profit of RON 4.7 mln (some EUR 1 mln), with 57 employees.
