According to meteorologists, snow and sleet are expected in Moldova and Transylvania regions, as well as in mountain areas.

It will rain heavily in the south and south-western regions, with rainfall often expected to exceed 30 liters per sqm. Moreover, the wind will blow stronger in these regions and in the mountain areas, reaching some 55 km per hour.

According to the National Meteorological Administration, the precipitations will continue in the coming days.

In the mountains, it has been snowing since Tuesday night. At the Balea Lake, one of the highest places in Romania, the snow layer has already reached 29 centimeters. The traffic conditions are difficult on several mountain roads, including the DN1 national road connecting Bucharest to the winter resorts in the Prahova Valley and Brasov. Several police filters are checking if the cars are equipped with snow tires. The winter tires are mandatory after winter sets in.
