Winter returns to Romania this weekend
Romania’s National Meteorology Administration has issued a code yellow warning for snowfall and blizzard for the southern half of Romania, including the capital Bucharest. The code is in force starting Friday, February 6, at 16:00, until Saturday at 14:00.
The snowfall will be little, but high winds of over 50-60 km/hand even 80 km/h in some regions, will sweep away the snow.
In Bucharest, wind has been blowing hard, and it has been raining since early morning on Friday. Air temperatures have also dropped to zero. In the following days, temperatures are expected to stay close to zero during the days, and to go down to -5 and even -8 degrees Celsius during the nights.
Blizzard will hit today most of Europe’s southern part, with code red for heavy snowfall in parts of Croatia and Italy.
