With new store in Bucharest, Metro Cash & Carry reaches EUR 500 mln investments in Romania
Metro Cash & Carry's fifth store in Bucharest, whose opening in the Policolor area, East of the city, was announced earlier today, required an investment budget between EUR 15 and EUR 20 million, the retailer has announced. This brings the total investment made by Metro Cash & Carry in Romania so far at EUR 500 million. The recently-opened store is Metro Cash & Carry's 25th in Romania. It covers 13,000 sqm, out of which 8,300 sqm represent the sales area. “Opening the new distribution center is the proof that Bucharest is a continuously developing market, which still has a remarkable growth potential […],” said Dusan Wilms, general manager of Metro Cash & Carry Romania. The retailer's operational director in Romania is Edwin Deurloo.
